Mission
Substrate Collaborative Anthropological Research (SCAR), in collaboration with Hoyo, annually offers a research grant to support projects in historical and precontact archaeology, with the goal of advancing our understanding of the First People of Oregon.
Award Details
Amount: Up to $1,000
Eligibility: Open to undergraduate or graduate students, early-career researchers, Tribal researchers/archaeologists, pursuing projects in archaeology, anthropology, Native American studies, museum studies, or related fields.
Focus: Projects that demonstrate creativity, tribal engagement, and contribute to the understanding of the cultural history of the Plateau or Great Basin. We value the contributions that descendant communities offer the field of anthropology and support the inclusion Tribal goals, values and engagement in a project’s proposal.
